Privacy statement
We handle your data with care: we only ask for what is needed, only use it for the purpose you give it for and never sell anything on.
This statement applies to hetportaal.com. Our other websites and services, such as the PromZ platforms, our magazines and the events, may have their own privacy statement. Last updated on 15 October 2026. This is a translation; if the versions differ, the Dutch text applies.

Which data we use and for what
Contact form and email
If you fill in the contact form, we send your name, email address, subject and message by email to our team. The website itself stores nothing. We only use your data to answer your question. The same applies if you email us directly, for example about a change of address or an advertisement. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions, or the performance of a contract if you are a customer or subscriber.
Visiting the website
With every visit, the server automatically records which address was requested, when, from which IP address and with which browser. We only use these log files to solve problems and prevent abuse. They are deleted automatically after eight weeks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website.
We do not use programs that track your visit, such as Google Analytics, and we do not show third-party advertising.
How long we keep data
- Messages via the form or by email: as long as needed to handle your question.
- Data of customers and subscribers: as long as the contract runs, and after that as long as the law requires, such as the seven-year tax retention obligation.
- Server log files: eight weeks.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and do not give it to others for their own purposes. We do use a few service providers that process data only on our behalf:
- Hetzner Online GmbH: the server of this website, in a data centre in Germany.
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365): our email, which the contact form also uses.
We only give data to a government authority if the law requires us to.
Cookies
This website does not place cookies for statistics or advertising. That is why we do not ask for consent for cookies.
- Staff who log in to the content management get a functional cookie (
hp_sessie) so that they stay logged in. It expires when they log out, and otherwise after fourteen days. - If a news item contains a YouTube video and you play it, YouTube may place its own cookies. Google's privacy policy applies to those.
Your rights
You may ask us which data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its use, have its use restricted or have your data transferred. Email traffic@hetportaal.com for this; we respond within one month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
The website only works via an encrypted connection (https). Only staff who need it have access to the content management and the server, and we make a backup every night that is only accessible to the server administrator.
Changes
If anything changes in how we handle data, we update this statement. The top of the page shows when that last happened.
